A PEDAGOGY THAT BRINGS RESULTS

Blaze PLM offers a blend of online and classroom instruction, combined with one-on-one mentoring. In this individualized environment, students learn to take ownership of their educational experience by controlling the components of time, pace, place and path, allowing teachers to spend less time delivering information and more time teaching.

TRAINING TEACHERS AND STAFF IN THE USE OF SYSTEMS SOFTWARE

Just like every student, every school is unique. This is why we have created an onboarding process wherein our install team meets with teachers, staff and administrators in person to ensure a seamless and successful implementation. Additionally, our training team provides follow up support via webinar trainings, email, phone and text.

SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION

The problem schools have in transitioning to a Personalized or Blended Learning Environment, is they place the primary focus on Tools and Structure, and neglect to develop the underlying belief that holds it all together.

Successful transformations must first focus on the core belief or the WHY of personalized learning, then introduce tools and structure to the equation.

STEPS TO INDIVIDUALIZING EDUCATION

Step 1: Every student is given assessments to help determine their learning preferences.

Step 2: From those findings, the teacher then determines which learning strategies will be most effective.

Step 3: The student and teacher collaborate together to make a plan for that child’s specific needs and academic desires, and the student is then held accountable to those plans.

Step 4: The student is closely monitored in the beginning, with a gradual release of control after benchmarks are met, with the end goal being complete student autonomy.

“At a high level, personalized learning… promotes student agency and empowerment by providing students with choices for learning based on how they learn best, what motivates them to learn and their academic goals.” Forbes , Kurshan 2016

TEACHERS BECOME MENTORS
NOT LECTURERS

Students and teachers are most positively influenced by meaningful connections and relationships. These relationships are made possible by learning to engage with students, trust them, have one on one meetings with them, and then set real expectations for personalized growth.

Students are not required to move with a class; therefore they can spend time on the subjects that they do not understand and can move ahead when they are interested and engaged. When a student can set his or her own trajectory for learning, motivation emerges.

Teachers are instructed in classroom management, coaching skills, and basic counseling skills.
